Here at 18|8 we care about each of you and have worked diligently to ensure that our salon and staff have been properly outfitted and trained so that you will remain safe when you visit us.

We are following the guidelines and requirements for Personal Services issued by the State of California and the Guidance for Cleaning and Disinfecting issued by the CDC and EPA. The measures we are taking to provide a safe experience for you include, but are not limited to, the following:

Upon arrival at the salon

  • Clients, staff, suppliers and visitors are screened upon entering the salon. Temperature is checked. Any staff showing signs or symptoms of illness will be required to return home. Clients showing signs or symptoms of illness will have their appointment rescheduled.
  • Only clients will be allowed entry into the salon unless an accompanying companion is required. Accompanying members not required for assistance will be asked to wait outside whenever possible to help maintain social distancing.
  • Clients are asked to wait outside the salon until their scheduled appointment time. Clients are encouraged to download the 18|8 app which allows self-check-in.
  • We will ask that you continue to practice physical distancing measures in common areas of the salon, including the front desk. We stagger appointments to help maintain physical distancing.
  • Masks are required to be worn at all times in the salon.
  • We have hand sanitizer stations throughout the salon.
Hand Washing

Before and during Service

  • All surfaces will be wiped with disinfectant, including the barber chair, before each service.
  • Disinfection of every non-porous implement prior to use. Porous and soft surface tools that cannot be disinfected are used once and then discarded.
  • Our staff will wash their hands thoroughly before each service.
  • We have reduced the number of stations in use at a given time to ensure 6 feet of space between stations.
  • Our staff will be wearing, eye protection glasses or face-shields, and face masks.
  • Clients are encouraged to limit conversation with their stylist/barber.

Sanitation Procedures

After Service

  • Clients are encouraged to pay for services with contactless forms of payment or a credit or debit card to reduce the handling of cash. Clients are encouraged to download the 18|8 app which allows self-check-out and contactless payment.
  • Established housekeeping schedule ensures frequent cleaning and sanitizing with a particular emphasis on commonly touched surfaces.
