While we provide straight shaves<\/a> in our Oakley barbershop, it\u2019s also important to be able to get a good shave when you\u2019re at home as well. For your benefit, we\u2019ll go over the different types of razors you can use and their pros and cons to help you determine which razor is the perfect choice for you.<\/p>\n

Electric Razors<\/h2>\n

Electric razors provide many different benefits: they\u2019re good for travel, they\u2019re effective on light beards, and they\u2019re perfect for overly sensitive skin. However, most barbers will actually recommend against using electric razors because they don\u2019t get as close in order to provide a clean enough effect. If you use an electric razor though, make sure to prep your face with a warm washcloth and follow up with moisturizer.<\/p>\n

Multi-Blade Razors<\/h2>\n

Multi-blade razors are the most common type of razors to be found in your convenience stores. However, these razors also happen to be bad for your skin. The many blades can end up scraping your face and they can cause extensive damage when your skin isn\u2019t properly lubricated. If you use a multi-blade razor, it\u2019s best to keep your skin lubricated. Also, make sure to shave gently and slowly.<\/p>\n

Double Edge Razors<\/h2>\n

One of the best razors you can have at your own home is the double edge razor. This razor has a sleek design that allows it to reach every nook and cranny on a man\u2019s face, making it perfect for creating defined beard lines. In addition to that, double edge razors are very durable and have a much longer lifespan.<\/p>\n

Straight Edge Razors<\/h2>\n

Most barbers will agree that if you want to achieve a perfect shave, you\u2019ll have to use a straight edge or single blade razor. These razors are some of the most esteemed models available, but they can be dangerous in the hands of someone who\u2019s not experienced in using them.
