At 18|8, our stylists and staff provide the advice, solutions and consistency men deserve in a wide variety of services and treatments, including haircuts, hair coloring, MANicures, face treatments, scalp treatments and massage—all provided at semi-private stations. At 18|8 men can have a unique experience designed to meet their specific needs, rather than being an afterthought at a woman’s salon or settling for a clip-joint-quality haircut.

It's important that our clients are informed about the products that we select for their hair and skin. We make sure that we hire and train quality stylists and estheticians that are experts in their vocations to provide consultation and recommendations for both the in-salon experience and at-home follow up.

At 18|8, when clients arrive, they are greeted by the salon coordinator who offers the guest a drink and informs the stylist and/or cosmetologist that the guest has arrived. The guest is then guided to the stylist's booth for hair services or to private or semi private rooms for grooming services.

Observations are made regarding skin and hair type. What types of products does he currently use? What is the preferred cut? If the client has been to the grooming center more than once, then questions are asked to explore how the service and products are working.

After the styling or grooming service is provided, a prescription is written along with the receipt. The guest is escorted to the salon coordinator who makes sure that all appropriate information regarding the client's needs and contact information have been captured in the database and reminds the client when the next appointment should take place.

OUR HERITAGE

Oxidation and corrosion was an ongoing problem with steel at the turn of the 19th century. This tough but flawed metal was limited in its use in structures and tools due to its natural tendency to rust. The breakthrough transformation of steel took place in 1913 in Sheffield, England, when metalist, Harry Brearly, working on a project to improve rifle barrels, accidentally discovered that adding chromium to low carbon steel provided stain resistance. Later it was discovered that a combination of 18% chromium combined with 8% nickel provided the look and performance of what is today referred to as stainless steel. With that discover, Mr. Brearly set about to apply the new process to the creation of fine cutlery. 18-8 came to be known as the foundation of all varieties of stainless steel and created a revolution in industrial production and consumer products.

18% chromium and 8% nickel transformed steel into better looking and performing stainless steel. 18|8 is our metaphor for the transformation of our male clientele to look better, feel better, and perform better.
